After studying mechanical engineering, specializing in automotive engineering, at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Andre Seeck started his career 1993 as a researcher in the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) in section “Passive Vehicle Safety, Biomechanics”. There, he led various research projects in preparation for the European Safety Regulations for motor vehicles. From 2001, he took over the leadership of the newly formed section “Vehicle-safety Assessment, Driver Assistance Systems,” and since 2008 he is the head of the division “Automotive Engineering” in the Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt).
In this position he is responsible for the preparation of European Safety Regulations. He is also head of the strategy group on automated driving and on rating system. Furthermore he represents the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure in the Board of Directors of Euro NCAP. From 2010 to 2014, Andre Seeck was the President of Euro NCAP.
In 2017 NHTSA awarded him the U. S. Government Special Award of Appreciation.
